First of all - congrats to Jeff, Kris, David, and Alyssa! Everybody did a great job today in the Marine Corps Marathon. Watching all the people come in at mile 25 though reminded me of the pain of the marathon. With all the aches, cramps, etc you basically feel sick - and you just want it to stop.
This week is a slight increase in mileage as I'm still in my "recovery" phase of training. I'm going to try to get in at least two sessions of yoga and two weight sessions this week as well.
Last week
Monday: 6 miles
Tuesday: 0 miles
Wednesday: 5 miles
Thursday: 0 miles
Friday: 10 miles
Saturday: 5 miles
Sunday: 4 miles
Total: 30 miles
This week
Monday: 6 miles
Tuesday: 0 miles
Wednesday: 6 miles
Thursday: 0 miles
Friday: 8 miles
Saturday: 6 miles
Sunday: 10 miles
Total: 36 miles

holler! Thanks for coming out today. My training hasn't necessarily been marathon-focused, and having you guys running in that last mile with me really made all the difference!
alyssa, now that you've made a comment I feel like I have a legit blog. although, i was expecting something a little less appropriate. ; )
haha inappropriate? me? no...
sike I am just testing the waters...inapprop is just a matter of time.
Also I think you're limiting your potential with the name of the blog. What if you want to keep blogging after Boston?
thanks, but i think you might be overestimating my "potential" to write anything worthwhile. Plus, I want to come up with as much content on marathoning and boston, and if I had a "general" blog then I probably wouldn't post as much boston marathon stuff.
if this whole blogging thing goes to my head, and i think that people care what i think about non-running topics - then i'll change the name - maybe to "Ben BS's, bemoans, and bitches". (see how limited my vocabulary is - those were the only relevant "B" words i could come up with)
hey thanks again for being out there, you guys kept me going when i was sure i had nothing left. i'm hoping to have a prettier finish at boston.
glad we could be of help kris. i would say that 75% of the runners that we saw in the last mile looked exactly like you did. So, you had a lot of company
